PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and three others hurt early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the intersection of Dahlia and Manly streets shortly after 1 a.m. When they arrived, they found four people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Medics pronounced one victim dead at the scene. That victim has not been identified.

The three others were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Rae Dias has lived near the intersection of Dahlia and Manly Streets for five years. She says in the past four years she's grown more concerned with the level of safety in the neighborhood, especially after what happened early Saturday morning.
