Beacon’s Jah’Real Whitted put an exclamation point on Beacon’s season-opening win on Friday, recovering a fumble in the fourth quarter and returning it 60 yards for a touchdown in a 28-19 win over Highland.
“So that is just textbook football there, we have guys rapping on them and then another guy’s supposed to come in and get that ball,” said Coach Gerald Ryan, of Whitted’s defensive heroics. “(He) went in and just ripped the ball out of the guy’s hand and took one to the house.”
