AKRON, Ohio— Junior kicker Jeremy Hammel missed an extra point and a field goal earlier in the game. When it mattered the most, trailing by two points with 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Hammel connected on a 35-yard field goal to seal the win for the Knights, 23-21, over Detroit King.
“Those are the moments you dream of,” Hammel said with a smile on his face. “Everyone trusted in me … it’s a team effort and I’m happy I could execute.
It’s just another kick, you don’t want to get too high or get too low,” he continued. “Just go out there and do your routine and treat it just like any other kick.”
Senior wide receiver and Louisville commit Payton Cook caught two touchdowns on a night where scores were crucial, playing a big part in the win on Friday night.
“We fell short last we
