The Saskatoon Hilltops have added some American imports and, yes, they come tariff-free.

In the Prairie Football Conference, Hilltops head coach Tom Sargeant saw it as keeping up with the Joneses or maybe, in this case, the Regina Thunder.

“That’s the case,” says Sargeant. “It just came down to everyone in this league had been bringing in Americans for the last couple of years and we sort of resisted. Regina has been doing this from Day 1. So either you complain about it or do something about it.”

So they did something about it.

They delved into players’ film highlights and discovered Isaiah Vallderruten. David Boyd Jr. and David Collins followed.

“Two guys from Minnesota and one from New Jersey,” Sargeant says proudly.
