BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Fire Department is investigating the cause of a house fire that started late Friday night.

Fire crews responded to a home at 171 Victoria Avenue near Hill Street, around 11:00 p.m. in the city's Fillmore-Leroy neighborhood.

The 3-alarm blaze appeared to cause significant damage to the upper level of the main home. Two neighboring homes also suffered external damage. To what extent the interior of the homes were damaged is not yet known.

Officials have said that the fire started on the second floor of 171 Victoria Ave, and then spread to the second floor and attic of 169 Victoria Ave. 175 Victoria Ave also suffered damage, but early reports suggest that damage was mostly caused from water.
