STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Twice on Friday night, Olmsted Falls lined up for game-winning field goals, and on the second possession of overtime after blocking Strongsville’s go-ahead field goal, the Bulldogs stormed Pat Catan Field for a 24-21 victory.
In a game that had all the makings of an instant classic between two storied football programs, Olmsted Falls (2-1, ranked 13th in the cleveland.com Top 25) made just one more play than Strongsville (2-1, No. 9) for a memorable performance by both sides.
To get to overtime, the Bulldogs had to come up with several big-time stops of the Mustangs late in the game. Eventually forcing a Mustangs punt with 1:18 left in regulation, the Bulldogs started with promising field position at Strongsville 30.
