LAS VEGAS — The first boxwoman to run a craps table in a Las Vegas Strip casino has always been bold, with nerve and tact that proved useful when the Beatles visited Aug. 20, 1964.

Once Georgie Roberts discovered that they had accommodations at the Sahara, in an 18th-floor penthouse suite, she went into action. Her own Fab Four were all 14 years old.

John, Paul, George and Ringo had played San Francisco the previous evening, and their chartered flight landed in Vegas at 1 a.m.

Before dawn, Georgie and her troupe began their maneuvers, ultimately befriending Sahara security. They partook in a ruse, that the group had left to rehearse, to disperse hundreds of girls.
