The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has expanded a nationwide recall of potentially radioactive frozen shrimp , including brands sold in Massachusetts.
The recall now includes Southwind Foods products sold in Massachusetts and nine other states under various brand names, including Sand Bar, Best Yet, Arctic Shores, Great American, and First Street. The products were distributed between July 17 and Aug. 8 and have “best-by” dates that extend into 2027, the FDA said .
Recalls have also been issued for AquaStar cocktail shrimp, sold at Walmart between July 31 and Aug. 16 in 28 states, and Kroger’s Mercado shrimp, sold between July 24 and Aug. 11 in 17 states—though neither brand was sold in Massachusetts.
