ATLANTA — Someone could become a billionaire tonight.

The Powerball jackpot has climbed to $1.8 billion, the second-largest prize in the game’s history. The drawing is set for Saturday, Sept. 7, at 11:59 p.m. ET, and Georgia players are already riding a wave of recent luck.

Georgia winners score big ahead of record drawing

Earlier this week, two Georgia players won $1 million each in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing. They matched all five white-ball numbers but missed the red Powerball, just one number shy of the jackpot.

Another Georgian won $100,000 by matching four white balls and the Powerball with a 2x Power Play. Several others across the state claimed prizes ranging from $50,000 to $200.
