ATLANTA — A line of strong storms that produced powerful winds caused significant damage across portions of metro Atlanta on Saturday.

A 12-year-old girl was also tragically critically injured after a portion of a tree and several tree limbs fell and struck her in Paulding County.

Strong winds took a portion of the roof off at a Red Roof Inn motel in Cobb County and a prominent golf course was damaged by fallen trees.

The storms also delayed some of college football's biggest games in and around metro Atlanta.

Girl critically injured in Paulding County

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office said that a 12-year-old girl suffered critical injuries after several tree limbs and a portion of another tree fell at the Paulding County Arts & Crafts Festival on Saturday.
