Scots Bounce Back With Abbreviated Win
LUCAS — Highland Park stole the show from Mother Nature on Friday and picked up its first victory of the season.
The Scots rolled past Lovejoy 21-0 in a game stopped with 3:54 remaining in the first half due to inclement weather. Since it was a nondistrict contest, play will not resume, and the final score and statistics will count.
The start of the game was delayed more than two hours by an initial thunderstorm, followed by about 45 minutes of football before the skies opened up again.
The Scots (1-1) rolled up 328 yards of offense on just five possessions. Buck Randall was responsible for most of that production, throwing for 171 yards and running for another 93.
