A man has been jailed for a robbery he committed on Boxing Day last year in Stockton . Anthony Jeffries, 48, from Stockton , followed his victim along Hartington Road.

Jeffries pined the man, 50, him to a wall and forcibly searched his pockets. He then assaulted him by using his elbow to hit him in the face, breaking his nose.

Officers identified Jeffries through CCTV footage and he was arrested, and subsequently charged. Jeffries was sentenced at Teesside Crown Court on Friday, August 29 to four years and one month for the robbery, theft from a shop and possession of class A drugs.
