Sep. 5—About 125 New Vista High students walked from the school's Boulder campus down Broadway to the Pearl Street Mall as part of a national walkout Friday to raise awareness of gun violence in schools and push for the passage of national gun safety laws.

"I don't want to die," New Vista sophomore Izzy Alexander said. "It's completely out of hand when high school students are protesting for their lives. It's really a sad time to be someone my age. It's so important to protest. Even if one mind somewhere is changed, that's a difference and that's what we're fighting for."
