CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WV News) — A construction worker was injured Saturday morning in a fall from a bridge project in Danville.
The Kokosing Construction Company worker was working on the Jill Micah Hess Memorial Bridge when the accident occurred. The worker fell about 8 feet and was transported to a local hospital.
The worker's condition was not immediately known Saturday morning.
In June 2024, Kokosing was awarded a contract for approximately $13.3 million for a rehabilitation project on the bridge, which carries US 119 (Corridor G) across Browns Branch and WV 85 (Smoot Avenue) in Danville.
The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) will provide further information as it becomes available.
