TAYLOR Swift skipped the Kansas City Chiefs' season opener in Brazil on Friday night.

And the reason for the music megastar's absence has apparently been revealed.

Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement just weeks before the NFL season began.

And Kelce then set off to Sao Paulo, Brazil for Kansas City's season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Fans were eager to see whether his new fiancee Swift would make the trip.

But they were left disappointed by her absence.

According to the Daily Mail, Swift missed the game over security concerns.

They quoted a source as saying, "The travel and the cost and most importantly the security, which goes along with the aforementioned travel and cost are all the reasons Taylor didn't go to the game to see Travis play.
