JACKSON, Wyo. — Ready to get corny?
The moon will reach peak fullness on Sunday night, rising over Jackson at 7:51 p.m. Residents of Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia will be treated to a total lunar eclipse, but the action is not likely to be visible in North America, according to NASA.
The September full moon is often known as the “Corn Moon.” Depending on the way the lunar cycle coincides with the calendar, September sometimes hosts the “Harvest Moon,” based on proximity to the autumnal equinox. This year, the “Harvest Moon” will rise on Oct. 7.
