MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas - A Montgomery County constable deputy was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run overnight.

Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable's Office reports authorities were called to I-45 near Rayford Road to help investigate the incident.

Judge Keough says officials from the sheriff's office and Precinct 3 constables joined in a search for the suspect.

The suspect's vehicle was found within an hour and the driver was taken into custody,

According to Judge Keough, the deputy was taken to a hospital for treatment.
