Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse football received a verbal commitment on Saturday morning from Class of 2026 running back Shavane Anderson Jr. during his visit for the UConn game, Anderson confirmed to syracuse.com.
Anderson lists himself as 6-foot-1, 195 pounds and plays for William Penn High School in York, Pennsylvania. 247Sports lists him as a three-star recruit and the No. 100 running back in his class.
He becomes the 29th player in Syracuse’s 2026 recruiting class and joins three-star recruit D’Antae Sheffey, also from Pennsylvania, as the only two running backs in the class.
Anderson also visited Syracuse for spring practice in March. Syracuse was his only Power Four offer — he also held offers from Kent State, Old Dominion, UConn and Saint Francis.
