SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Fran Brown said earlier in the week that he was expecting a "dog fight" against UConn and the SU head coach was indeed right about that. The Huskies were the better team in the first half and lead 14-6 at the break. SU got the ball first and drove the length of the field, only to have that drive stall. Facing a 4th-and-1 inside the UConn 10, Dan Villari was stopped short on a sneak attempt.

The Huskies got on the board on the first play of the second quarter. UConn quarterback Joe Fagnano swung out a lateral to wide receiver John Neider.
