By the time the second half started at Jerry Argovitz Stadium at Rancho Mirage High School Friday night, the Rancho Mirage Rattlers had already put away Tahquitz High School.

The Rattlers scored 35 first-half points behind big nights from quarterback Julien Hernandez and receiver Jeremiah Johnson on the way to a 42-16 victory at home, improving the Rattlers record to 2-1 on the young season.
