BLOOMINGTON, Ind. —

Indiana improved to 2-0 with the 56-9 win over Kennesaw State in their first ever meeting in program history. After totaling 500 yards of offense last week and more than 300 on the ground, IU picked where it left off.

Head coach Curt Cignetti put an emphasis on a red zone efficiency after the Hoosiers Week 1 win against Old Dominion. IU showed improvement in Week 2.

Starting quarterback Fernando Mendoza completed 8 of 25 passes for 245 yards and 4 touchdowns. With a large midway through the fourth, the older Mendoza was replaced by his brother Alberto in the fourth quarter. The redshirt freshman connected with Charlie Becker for his first career touchdown pass.
