LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Today, dozens of brave souls went “over the edge” by scaling the side of the Louisville Slugger Museum, all for a good cause.
At just 5 years old, Patrick McSweeney began his cancer battle after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on July 21, 2004.
Playgrounds and schoolyards soon became hospital stays and treatment sessions.
Until he found out about Camp Quality Kentuckiana.
“Getting to meet other kids with cancer and just enjoying a week to ourselves and just having fun, it was an amazing experience,” McSweeney said.
His mother, Debbie McSweeney, explained that doubts about the camp did not last long.
