■ What happened: Cincinnati capped off a quick scoring drive with a 44-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Brendan Sorsby to wide receiver Cyrus Allen with 7:23 left. The Bearcats went 64 yards in three plays after going three-and-out on their opening possession.
BGSU’s Jackson Kleather, who converted a 56-yard field goal in last week’s home win against Lafayette, came up well short on a 54-yard attempt on the Falcons’ second possession.
The Falcons’ defense played well in forcing two three-and-outs in four Cincinnati possessions. The Bearcats had just two first downs, with one coming via penalty.
