ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Georgia Bulldogs freshman tight end Ethan Barbour was carted off the field with a gruesome ankle injury during Saturday’s Week 2 matchup against Austin Peay.

The injury took place on the final play of the first half, and Barbour immediately received attention from the team’s medical staff. The game entered a weather delay as UGA was leading 14-3 at the half.

Barbour was expected to be a major contributor to the Dawgs’ offense as a true freshman. However, it’s likely the freshman will miss time.

The team has senior Oscar Delp, junior Lawson Luckie, redshirt freshman Jaden Reddell, freshman Elyiss Williams and redshirt freshman Colton Henrich in the tight end room to compensate for Barbour’s loss.
