A Kalispell man pleaded not guilty on Thursday to charges that he drove over a pedestrian last month on Birch Grove Road, resulting in the pedestrian's death.
Jeffrey Serio, 48, has been charged with one count of deliberate homicide. He was arraigned Thursday afternoon in Flathead County District Court before Judge Heidi Ulbricht.
According to the Flat-head County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a report on the evening of Aug. 19 that a man was driving through fields and fencing on Grigg Road. After law enforcement responded, Serio allegedly drove his car through a cornfield and hit someone on Birch Grove Road. The person became trapped beneath the car and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.
Serio is being held at the Flathead County Detention Center
