GRAND FORKS — The sun came through with its warmth. There were babies in buggies and bubbles in the air. All that plus mighty marching bands, beyond gigantic tractors, dance teams, and tremendous community spirit, which made for a very successful 2025 Potato Bowl Parade.
On Saturday morning, Sept. 6, the two-hour 59th annual parade passed through downtown Grand Forks on DeMers Avenue, across the Sorlie Bridge and into East Grand Forks.
“It’s the best parade ever,” said LaJoy Rau, Mekinock, North Dakota.
Rau was one of those along the route who was handed a bag of sugar compliments of the American Crystal Sugar float that passed by. Her little grandson was as excited about the sugar as he was about all the candy flying through the air.
