ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Georgia Bulldogs’ game against Austin Peay on Saturday entered a rain delay during halftime and resumed at 6:02 p.m.
Georgia led Austin Peay, 14-3 , at the half before the delay.
The team announced that play was suspended due to lightning being detected within eight miles of the stadium. Play can’t start up again until it’s been 30 minutes since the last lightning strike.
Due to anticipated storms in the evening, the university moved up Saturday’s game to 2:30 p.m. from its original 3:30 p.m. start time.

Sanford Stadium gates opened to fans at 1 p.m. with the Dawg Walk taking place at 12:55 p.m.
