The two men who pleaded guilty to chasing down and shooting to death a 17-year-old girl in Iron County the night of Jan. 17 each received the maximum possible prison sentences in their respective cases.

During an emotional 75-minute hearing on Friday afternoon, 5th District Judge Meb Anderson imposed the statutory maximum sentences for Ethan Galloway, 24, and Michael Hess-Witucki, 23, each of whom had previously pleaded guilty to killing KayLee Dutton.

The first-degree felony murder charge to which each man pleaded guilty carries a mandatory sentence of 15 years to life in prison, the judge noted.
