Boston’s preliminary look is scheduled for Tuesday and the two front-runners are campaigning at top speed.

Both incumbent Mayor Michelle Wu and Josh Kraft, who is considered her most serious competition, hosted competing campaign events on Saturday.

Kraft, the son of billionaire Patriots owner Robert Kraft who heads the family’s philanthropic arm, has deep pockets: a personal funds infusion of $3.5 million a few days ago brings his war chest to $5.5 million, the Herald reported.

Josh Kraft, who headed the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston before moving to the New England Patriots Foundation, reported a $6.3 million income last year.

But those millions of dollars are attempting to bridge a massive gulf between himself and Wu, who in recent polling maintains a 50-point advantage over Kraft.
