Georgia football redshirt freshman running back Chauncey Bowens got his first two career touchdowns in the Bulldogs' 28-6 win over Austin Peay.
He only played four games last year as a reserve, tallying 16 touches for 58 yards on the ground. Saturday, he emerged from the shadows and collected 11 touches for 56 yards and the two scores.
"He was really physical," coach Kirby Smart said of Bowens. "I thought he got yards after contact. He was running violently, and he's got really good power in his lower body. He runs behind his pads, and we noticed that all camp. He broke a lot of tackles, and I thought he had a little more burst and spring in his step today."
