After weeks of speculation, the Pittsburgh Steelers and All-Pro defensive tackle Cam Heyward have agreed to terms on a re-worked contract, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
“A deadline deal: Steelers and team captain Cam Heyward reached agreement tonight on a revised deal that will add over $3 million in incentives this year and allows him to earn up $18 million this season, per source,” Schefter reports on X. “Heyward will play Sunday vs. the Jets.”
Heyward began holding in during training camp in Latrobe. When asked if he would play in the Week 1 opener, he refused to commit to suiting up. Now, with a re-worked deal, he is a full go.
