BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - With the Powerball drawing Saturday night, many are getting their last-minute tickets with hopes to win the whopping jackpot of $1.8 billion.

“Two tickets, one for me, one for the Mrs.... I asked the man upstairs what I got to do to win the lottery, and he said buy a ticket,” said David Hunter of Burlington.

“I figured I couldn’t win if I didn’t play at all. It’s a lot of money,” said Kaleb Hayes of Burlington.

This is the second-largest jackpot in Powerball history, following 2022’s $2 billion prize.

If you choose to take the lump sum cash prize, it would be about 628 million dollars after taxes. With that amount of money, the possibilities are endless.
