WASHINGTON — More than two years after 23-year-old Brandon Gant was shot and killed in Southeast D.C., his family is still searching for answers — and justice.
Gant was fatally shot in April 2023 at the intersection of 18th Street and Minnesota Avenue SE, just one week before his birthday. His mother, Toloria Gant, says she’s still heartbroken and desperate for closure.
“I’m just broken — to know that I’ll never be able to see my son again,” Gant said in an interview with WUSA9.
Each month, she does a community walk, hoping to raise awareness and urge someone to come forward with information.
“He was the sweetest young man you could ever meet,” she said. “He was loving and caring.”
