MOORHEAD — It was a moment years in the making.
The energy was palpable driving towards Concordia College’s Jake Christiansen Stadium early Saturday evening as the Cobbers were getting set to host Mayville State in their season opener.
Not only was it Concordia’s first game of the season, but for the first-time ever, the Cobbers played a home game beneath bright stadium lights.
A game that started with tailgating, music, food trucks and smiles in the parking lot ended with more smiles from the home crowd in a 17-6 Cobbers victory.
“This was a lot of fun,” Cobbers head coach Terry Horan said. “This was a fun atmosphere and a fun night for all of Moorhead. North Dakota State was out of town, (Minnesota State Moorhead) was out of town, so we were the show and it was kind of fun to have it
