A Scots millionaire businessman has agreed to double the fundraising efforts of a charity sending impoverished girls to school thanks to the Sunday Mail.
Former first minister Jack McConnell and his team from the McConnell International Foundation are to take part in the Kiltwalk this year to raise funds for their Keep Girls In School scheme. The programme helps 200 girls in the east African country with four-year scholarships to attend secondary school and aims to tackle the trend of teenagers dropping out of higher education due to pregnancy or poverty.
Now Optical Express founder David Moulsdale has agreed to double any funds raised by the team after reading about the project in last week’s Sunday Mail.
