EAST LANSING — At times, it was pretty. At times, it was ugly. At times, it was lucky to be Michigan State football .
And at times, it was scary to watch star after star go down for the Spartans . Including quarterback Aidan Chiles.
He returned valiantly for overtime. And the Spartans needed everything their quarterback had.
Chiles threw a touchdown pass to fullback Jay Coyne in the first overtime, but Boston College tied it up. After the Eagles took the lead back on their ensuing second-OT possession, Chiles took a QB draw 3 yards for another TD to tie the game. Then needing the 2-point play for victory, the junior rolled right and threw back across the field to Omari Kelly in the back left corner of the end zone to give MSU a thrilling 42-40 victory on Saturday, Sept. 6.
