HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Clouds and showers are expected to increase Sunday into Monday morning thanks to a passing band of moisture and an upper disturbance to the north. A drier airmass is expected to move in Monday.

This drier weather will be brief with the approach of tropical cyclone Kiko. Tropical moisture associated with Kiko is forecast to reach Hawaii Island Monday afternoon and then spread westward by Tuesday morning as Kiko starts to pass north of the state, cutting off the trade wind flow.

The main impact from Kiko will likely be muggy conditions, more clouds and a chance for possible heavier showers during the Monday through Wednesday time period. We’ll continue to track Kiko for the next several days, and we’ll have your First with any changes, watches or warnings.
