Erie Times-News reporters won awards recently in contests that recognize outstanding journalism in Pennsylvania and nationally.

The Times-News earned five awards in Division III in the Professional Keystone Media contest, which is sponsored by the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association Foundation. Entries were judged by the Hoosier State Press Association.

Ed Palattella earned a tie for first place in investigative reporting for his article " Fairview schools were hit with sex harassment case after superintendent left. Case settled ."

Palattella also took first place for news feature story for " Lake Erie beachfront land, born out of a bankruptcy, is going fast in North East Township ."

Sports writer Jeff Uveino earned first place for his sports feature " Ainsworth Field sits idle this sum
