The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is looking to accelerate the certification process for new commercial aircraft. According to a report by Reuters , the regulator is developing a plan to make this goal a reality, with details expected to be unveiled by December 2025.
As the report notes, the proposed changes are intended to “modernize certain certification standards for transport category airplanes and propulsion systems.” The move comes after former FAA Administrator Mike Whitaker remarked in December to Reuters that the agency was aiming to simplify the aircraft certification process.
