Cambridge mayor Jan Liggett has issued a statement condemning a Friday night attack at the Cambridge Fall Fair.
In her statement, the mayor thanked police for their quick response that resulted in a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old being arrested and charged after a noxious substance was sprayed during an altercation.
“The health and safety of our community remains our highest priority, and we deeply appreciate the co-ordinated efforts of police, emergency responders, and event staff in responding to this unnecessary act that exposed innocent people to the substance,” said Liggett.
The substance that police believe to be bear spray drifted onto bystanders, including a Cambridge mom and her 11-year-old son.
“I was able to get my younger son’s face covered, but I stood up looking for my old
