The Santa Monica Classic celebrated its 20th running on Sunday.
With a refreshed course that starts on Ocean Avenue and proceeds down the 3rd Street Promenade, thousands of runners took to the streets of SaMo for three different runs: a 10K, a 5K and a Kids Run. Event officials said that the revamped courses were designed to “enhance runner experience and reduce traffic impacts.”
“Runners will cover longer stretches along the coast and through downtown Santa Monica,” officials said. “The 10K offers a scenic, challenging course; the 5K is fast and ideal for PRs or competitive racing.”
