BLUEFIELD, W.Va. –Bluefield State University’s fall enrollment numbers are the highest the university has seen, continuing its trend of rising enrollment since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The university recently announced that Fall 2025 enrollment reached 1,442 students, a 10% increase from last fall. They have seen a notable increase in first-time freshmen, with 313 students enrolled this year compared to 218 last year.
BSU President Darrin Martin said the university is ecstatic about the rise in enrollment.
“It speaks to a lot a hard work from our faculty, our staff, and our alumni getting behind us, so we’re extremely pleased,” Martin told MetroNews.
He said the school typically brings in in-state students, but they also get students from Virginia.
