FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - We’ve been talking about it for several days now, and the forecast has remained pretty consistent since then: another round of chilly (potentially record-breaking cold) weather is in store overnight tonight into Monday morning.
The current record for Monday morning, September 8th, is 39 degrees, set back in 1986. Our forecast low is 40. Given how chilly it was this morning (we broke that cold record, too, with a low of 39. The previous record was 41, set back in 1962), it doesn’t seem that far-fetched to believe we could set or break another record! That would make it three cold-temperature records for late summer.
One last note - we *might* see some patchy frost if low temperatures overachieve, so keep that in mind if you have sensitive plants you don’t wan
