FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Sunny skies and gradually warming temperatures will be the theme through the end of the week with the chance for some showers midway through the weekend.

For now, plan on highs to warm two to three degrees every day from Tuesday (78º) through Friday (84º). We’re beyond the time of year when humidity gets excessive, so fortunately for folks like me who would rather not melt when the high temperature is barely touching 80º, you’re in luck!

One more note about the short term: tonight’s low temperature forecast of 43º puts us within striking distance of the record low of 40º set back in 1944. Should we manage to tie or break the cold temperature record, that would be the fourth time in two weeks!
