Brock Bowers was as advertised in his rookie season, but his sophomore campaign got off to a rocky start.
The Las Vegas Raiders tight end exited Sunday's contest against the New England Patriots with a knee injury in the fourth quarter.
After the game, Bowers told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero that he is fine after taking a hit to his knee. He added that there are no concerns moving forward.
The Raiders, and their fans, can breathe a sigh of relief following a season-opening win in New England.
It would've been a tough blow to a Raiders' offense that desperately needs their star to be on the field. He exited with five catches for 103 yards against the Patriots.
Here is the latest on Bowers.
Brock Bowers injury update
Bowers is fine after taking a hit to his knee, the tight end told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero after the game.
He was initially listed as questionable to return after exiting in the fourth quarter, but did not return to the game.
The tight end is a fixture in the Raiders' passing attack, meaning any absence would be difficult for the team to overcome.
Without him, Michael Mayer figured to be the top option in the tight end room.
Now the Raiders won't have to worry about that.
