GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — Authorities in Georgetown reportedly worked quickly with the community's cooperation on Saturday night when multiple people told officers about a juvenile possibly carrying a gun at a downtown festival.
The Georgetown Police Department posted on Facebook that around 9 p.m. on Sept. 6, officers were flagged down and directed to a group of people on Main Street. When law enforcement approached the group, two people tried to run away, but were found near the vendor tents.
According to department officials, an 18-year-old wearing a ski mask was allegedly carrying "a small pistol" in his pocket. A juvenile involved was released to his mom, while the 18-year-old was lodged in the Scott County Detention Center.
