FOXBOROUGH – The Mike Vrabel era is off and running.

On Sunday, the Patriots opened up their season against the Las Vegas Raiders. A rainy day didn’t stop fans from filling the Gillette Stadium seats. This game brought a lot of anticipation for the area, with members of Patriots Nation hoping for better days ahead.

This offseason, the Patriots brought in a laundry list of veteran players to rehabilitate a depleted roster. A promising new draft class also added to the intrigue of this season.

Coming off back-to-back 4-win seasons, this mess won’t be fixed overnight.

Everyone received a reminder of that on Sunday. That point was emphasized as fans booed the Patriots when the offense opted to punt on fourth down, instead of going for it near midfield.
