The No. 2-seeded Alcaraz won the first set 6-2 in 37 minutes Sunday once the match finally began after a delay because of extra security measures in place with President Donald Trump in a suite at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Sinner, the defending champion, then took the second set 6-3. That was the first set Alcaraz has lost in his seven matches in the tournament. Sunday’s match began more than a half-hour later than originally planned. Trump received a mix of cheers and boos when he waved from the suite he is sitting in before the match.
