The third week of the high school season played out under perfect football weather conditions last Friday.

Some schools played their final non-league games in preparation for conference play that begins this weekend. Other teams posted eye-opening wins or suffered tough, tight losses.

Playoff points are at a premium, even in the early going. The top 12 teams in each region make the playoffs this season, down from 16 from last season.
