Fire damages pizza restaurant in Seymour

SEYMOUR, CT (WFSB) - Crews battled a fire at Hot Grill & Pizza on Sunday morning in Seymour.

Around 7:40 a.m., firefighters responded to the restaurant at 59 New Haven Avenue for a fire that spread into the attic.

According to the fire department, crews forced their way into the building and brought the fire under control.

Authorities said the inside of the restaurant was significantly damaged.

“Due to heavy smoke conditions, the neighboring business, Seymour Garden, will remain closed for an extended period,” said the fire department.

All of the businesses were closed at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
